Repair Cafe Break the Throw Away Mindset What You Can Learn From Jackie Carter Part One

A Repair Cafe is a free community space for fixing items and learning repair skills, encouraging a shift from a throwaway mindset to sustainability. This approach addresses environmental issues by promoting the repair of belongings instead of disposal.
Mend It, Australia did not have the support of our local library to host a repair cafe in our town. Therefore, we decided to hit the backroads and attend other communities repair cafes.
In 2018 we tinker travelled to 31 repair cafe events around the state of Victoria. We drove over 6,000kms [from Melbourne to Darwin and some more] in those 12 months and our volunteering was self-funded.
In 2019 were will continue to make our positive impact by volunteering most weekends at numerous repair cafes that are popping up.
We have posted about the Moscow Repair Cafe on a couple of our Facebook page and enjoyed these two podcasts very much.
