The Revival of Baking. Merle Powell
Merle Powell helped students develop baking and home economic skills. She engaged students in the mastery of managing a household from owning a home to raising a family. Baking and making meals is at the heart of her upbringing. Through the years she watched the values of baking dismantled because of demands being made on families. But Merle sees a comeback happening in the art of baking. Seniors are our history.
Jerry and I are sending our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Mike, you and entire family. We are so very sorry for your loss. Hugs
Becky and Jerry thank you so much for listening and for the message regarding the loss of my mother-in-law. Both Mike and I appreciate your prayers. Catherine.
A very heart-warming podcast.
Dianne and Stan, thank you so much for listening. I appreciate it. I thought it was appropriate to have a guest on who is from the same generation as my mother-in-law, especially one who likes to cook. Thanks again! Catherine
Hi Catherine, Thanks so much for sharing this… I would love to see some of those recipes! Pie crust… cranberry cookies… o wow! Sorry that the pandemic took this wonderful lady too soon. 🙁 Lorraine

Karen, thank you so much for listening to the show. I know you will enjoy the many positive imprints whom have shared their stories. I thought Merle would be appropriate to feature as she is from the same generation as my mother-in-law. Thank you again for listening.
