What steps do you take when disaster strikes? You may feel isolated, and hope can seem fleeting. In 2004, during the Great Indian Ocean tsunami, Petra Němcová from the Czech Republic held onto a palm tree as the waves surged around her. With her fiancé missing, she held onto the hope that he would find something to grasp. All Hands and Hearts, a South Africa-based global team, responds to natural disasters, focusing on immediate crisis management while promoting long-term sustainability in their solutions.
