As you know, have had this fabulous, absolutely awesome social media graphics specialist, and she is here today Daphne Gariety your positive imprint podcast, social media graphics specialist.

Catherine:

What an amazing title to have on your resume at 18, 19 years old.

Catherine:

Daphne.

Catherine:

Welcome to the show.

Catherine:

Thank

Daphne Gariety:

you.

Daphne Gariety:

Thank you for having me

Catherine:

again.

Catherine:

Daphne was featured on episode 169.

Catherine:

Social media marketer provides humanitarian aid to Africa.

Catherine:

Well on today's episode, Daphne shares what her work is like as the social media graphics specialist for your positive imprint podcast.

Daphne Gariety:

For each post, it depends on the episode.

Daphne Gariety:

I like to have them themed.

Daphne Gariety:

So for example, if it's, about Marine biology or something to do with the environment, I'll usually have a template,

Daphne Gariety:

with either the ocean or sand or, or a landscape or, or say it is Marine biology, I'll usually do more tropical colors.

Daphne Gariety:

And if it's more of like a mountain terrain or something of that sort, I'll usually incorporate colors that are more earthy tones.

Daphne Gariety:

So I do a lot of color based themes depending on what the topic is, say, it's sporty say it's environmental, protection.

Daphne Gariety:

I'll usually make the fonts aesthetic to the theme as in the colors and the way that I organize the shapes.

Daphne Gariety:

Yeah.

Daphne Gariety:

, sometimes I'll, I'll come up with unique ideas depending on how my brain flows functioning that day . Um, but.

Daphne Gariety:

But most of the time, I just theme it to the episode and what is being discussed.

Daphne Gariety:

Daphne is not afraid to put herself out there.

Daphne Gariety:

She takes the time to create graphics that match the guest and the topic.

Daphne Gariety:

I think growing up the way that I have in the society that I have has been extremely helpful.

Daphne Gariety:

And the hobbies that I have.

Daphne Gariety:

I love to act and sing.

Daphne Gariety:

I'm a singer songwriter and a performer.

Daphne Gariety:

So I have always been exposed to putting myself out there, whether that be in performance or advertising for a show, or even just about, the adventures

Daphne Gariety:

I think putting myself out there has always been sort of natural to me, but I guess with marketing, it's kind of the same because I'm just so used to putting myself out there.

Daphne Gariety:

I guess that's what it is.

Daphne Gariety:

I'm just, I have had a lot of exposure to putting myself out there where lots of people can see.

Daphne Gariety:

And I just have, I kind of have this mentality where I'm like, okay, I like it.

Daphne Gariety:

If someone else doesn't like it, it's okay.

Daphne Gariety:

um, I just, I guess I just

Daphne Gariety:

have fun with it.

Daphne Gariety:

Again, it, it varies from post to post and episode to episode.

Daphne Gariety:

But usually if it's a lighthearted.

Daphne Gariety:

Topic being discussed it is easier for me cuz it's lighter colors, just kind of happier, more enthusiastic, um, designs.

Daphne Gariety:

But if it's a, topic's a little more serious to take a little bit more time, so it can take like seven minutes to 15 or anywhere from from, I guess, 15 to like 20, 25, depending on how much

Catherine:

And I asked Daphne the big question.

Catherine:

What are your favorite episodes that you have marketed for your positive imprint podcast?

Daphne Gariety:

Hmm,

Daphne Gariety:

let me think.

Daphne Gariety:

Terry Lilly.

Daphne Gariety:

I, I mean, first, I just love the photos from it doing design for Terry Lilly I'm actually working on one today.

Daphne Gariety:

I love them because, of the, different

Daphne Gariety:

pops of color from the reefs and the ocean and everything.

Daphne Gariety:

But I think, I think Terry Lily and Leif Cox, both of them, cuz I mean, I love animals.

Daphne Gariety:

Especially orangutans.

Daphne Gariety:

They're really cute.

Daphne Gariety:

Um, but I, I just appreciate, their missions and, and what they've been focusing on and putting their energy into.

Catherine:

Oh, that is awesome.

Catherine:

Daphne, I am so thrilled to hear that.

Catherine:

So what are you going to take with you when you leave

Catherine:

as the social media graphics specialist?

Daphne Gariety:

I think, an awareness of a lot of things that are going on in the world, cuz I'm pretty observant and pretty aware of a lot of things.

Daphne Gariety:

But as a young person, there's a lot going on that sometimes I tune out because it's hard to listen to or talk about but that needs awareness drawn to it.

Daphne Gariety:

So I think an awareness about certain topics, hard topics and important topics that need to be, talked about.

Catherine:

You're not oblivious to what is happening, but through the podcast you have learned from guests and the things are affecting people in other countries.

Catherine:

So I appreciate that Daphne.

Daphne Gariety:

thanks.

Catherine:

Daphne Gariety:

you.

Daphne Gariety:

Of

Catherine:

course.

Catherine:

So what are your last inspiring words you would like to share?

Catherine:

I would say to not be afraid to put yourself out there because it builds a lot of character and it's good for you.

Catherine:

and, it gives you opportunities that you might not have before.

Catherine:

So the inspiring words from Daphne be to not be afraid to put yourself out there.
