What's your PI?

Back in June, July, I had a little contest going for I love my pet, and uh, winners here, Connor and Cameron. Hello. Hi. Hello, both of you. My goodness. So we have so much to talk about. You entered this contest and you talked about your pets. You mentioned, they're cute. They regenerate limbs, they chill. Uh, when you're super sad, you like to have your pets around and they're fun to watch, especially the reptiles eat. So first off, Connor, Cameron, let's find out how old you are.

Um,

[:[:[:

[:

Sometimes we, we feel worms, so, yeah.

Uh, so the other day I took one out of the, we put 'em an oatmeal 'cause they're mealworms and I think. I guess say like oatmeal . So I took it out of the container and it fell out of the tweezers onto the floor and was crawling, and I had to take the turtle cage lid,

put my tweezers,

scoop the warm up, put it over the cage, and then take the tweezers and drop it back in.

And whenever you drop them you're like, oh no. Yeah.

[:[:[:

And you have these turtles that, , you're taking care of. Do you have , any sentimental ties or is this more of a learning experience for you?

[:[:

That's good to hear. Connor. I'm glad that you said that and this is coming from a 12 year old and a 10 year old, Cameron, do you have anything to add to that?

[:

And then, 'cause then the axle lot can't eat it.

[:[:[:[:[:[:[:

That's awesome. Do you talk about your pets at school? Yes, we do. Yeah, for sure. And do other students find, do your friends find that pretty exciting? I. Yes.

[:

And I think it's cool to have someone with the same pets as you. To like talk about the things with, and I, I go over to his house and , wow, I can't believe my turtles will be able to do that soon.

So the species, as far as I know, I think they're a box turtle. , and they are, When do we, like three years old, I think, and at about five years they can reproduce and then I think at like seven they might be able to go outside in the yard

[:[:

So I just lift up a little, like a little cave they have in there and I lift the one of them out, put it on the ground, give it a worm, and then we take them out and put them, in a little, uh, it still has dirt in it, but it's like a little bucket. For when we clean their enclosure. , so basically we take out the dirt and just put it on our plants, and then we put new dirt in and it has like, it's like freeze dried, coconut dirt or something.

[:

Do you name them or are they specifically box turtles and. Ax. Axel. .

[:[:[:

So the turtles are reptiles and what is the axel lot?

[:[:

Death. Yeah.

[:[:[:[:

He can regenerate practically any limb on his body

he can regenerate everything except for his brain. Actually, he can regenerate three quarters of his brain. . But basically, if all that was left was a tiny bit of the axle's brain, it could regenerate over time. So why

[:[:[:

where we live. We can raise acts a lot of us, but some places don't allow them as pets in their state or in some countries.

[:

And who wants to go first?

[:[:[:[:[:

Anyway, , she, the dog's right here actually right now, but, I think Luna is very, good to have around like if you're like really bored and sad and you just want to be happy, you can , play with the dog.

, so I, I think it's a great feeling. There's no greater feeling than when you come home and after a long day, your dog's there or your cat's there, or your, um, your parents there or someone. And it, it's just a.

It's just really great. She does though. , she comes to the door and when she's really excited, she pees all over the floor and then I have to clean it up and I'm like, Ugh, that happens.

[:[:[:

[:

I, uh, I'm, I, I often find myself not talking to anyone as well, but I talked to Luna, who's a good girl and stuff like every normal person does for their dog. I also have like actual conversations kind of, I just talk to her to get my feelings out and sometimes, , and.

She's, she's very sensitive so if I were to get a dog toy and she'd sit and then I'd put it on the ground and I'd say, go get it. And she'd go grab it, which is very cool. But sometimes I'm holding the dog toy in my hand, getting ready to throw.

[:

Whenever I go outside to water, I don't wanna take her out because every time I water and she comes up to me, jumps up, and right when I pour the water down, she.

[:[:[:

And her goal is to eat all of the treats and leave some dog food or eat no dog food. And it says, test of sniffing out where the treats are.

I hug my dogs, my cats. I would hug the ax a lot if I could.

[:[:[:[:

So I remember being at, I think, , it was my summer camp and getting in a car and then just hearing meowing and there were two cats in a little, uh, crate, and I was so excited.

And I think I got in trouble or something, but then I was just like, all my trouble and worries went away. So that was,

[:

Well, they're very therapeutic. And did you know that having pets that you talk to and that you hug and that you take care of and so on, brings down blood pressure, which also brings down your stresses? Oh yeah. That's, that's interesting. It is. So there's a lot to be said about our pets.

[:

And if I had to choose between a hundred different types of a hundred different cats, I would choose autumn and pumpkin because number one, pumpkin is very calm. And number two, autumn, if she comes into my room and then she stuffs her face into my Lego bins and she's like, yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's funny.

[:

And then they just run off and then come back in when I'm lying on my bed. Or they come back in my room when I'm playing video games with my friends and they're just, um, sitting on my, yeah, just meowing and being, being cats and, uh, As far as responsibility with them, it's not that bad.

Just, uh, taking the cat poop and, , feeding the cats, obviously. Yeah, feeding cats, giving them water.

[:

From?

[:

And, uh, we, we got Luna. I, I was very excited.

[:[:[:[:

And it's not just about the responsibilities. You take the responsibilities because as Connor said in the beginning, they're yours. You've adopted them, and you are responsible. You love them all? That's so apparent.

So on this podcast, which is your positive imprint, in fact you have fabulous positive imprints and I'm anxious to share them .

So the show has last inspiring words that you can share regarding pets.

[:

Uh, well

actually, not everyone should have a pet, but everyone that wants a pet should have a pet. It's definitely worth it. They're, the most wonderful things that have ever happened to me. Uh, well, yeah. Aw, and I, I think that they're definitely, definitely worth it.

The one thing I have to say is definitely don't give up, when you're trying to take care of 'em. 'cause it's really, really hard sometimes. When we first got Luna, it was, it was really hard.

We were totally new to having a dog Luna's just a puppy, so she'd run around and, but don't give up when you're, , when you're trying to take care of him and don't think you can't

[:

Cameron, what are your last inspiring words ?

[:

Stay calm, stay nice, try to help

[:

[:

Awesome. Connor Cameron, I have so much enjoyed this.

I loved this conversation. I think you two are fabulous, positive imprints thank you so much for sharing all of your information regarding pets, and you do have a number of them.

And thank you so much for entering the contest. Yes. Yeah, you're welcome. And yeah, and for putting your thoughts together on why you love your pet, and you certainly have a lot of reasons as to why you love your pets. Mm-hmm. So thank you again. To end. Want to remind you that next month, Alessandro Tronco, originally from Sicily will share his dedication to sustainability, and that is through Spirit Water.

. Until then, I. Keep loving your pet as they love you. And in Kat Steven's words, I love my dog as much as I love you dedicated to my baby, Maka. Thanks for listening, your positive imprint. What's your pi?
