Catherine:

What's your PI.

Michael Pereira:

The universe can dream a bigger dream for you than you can even dream for yourself.

Catherine:

I love this quote.

Catherine:

These are words from Michael Pereira, Broadway performer.

Catherine:

Michael saw a need to bring Broadway to Paris.

Catherine:

But something unexpected occurred.

Catherine:

A pandemic.

Catherine:

The citizens of our world faced COVID.

Catherine:

Businesses are forced to close, including Broadway in Paris.

Catherine:

Dreams can go in different directions.

Michael Pereira:

We're not just Americans and French and, and Brazilians.

Michael Pereira:

We are citizens of the world.

Michael Pereira:

we must come together in, in heart, in, in intention and integrity and morals and help change this world because it is our job to do it.

Michael Pereira:

It's our job to do it and to take responsibility for it.

Michael Pereira:

And it's important to keep going and keep reading and keep informing yourself and find

Michael Pereira:

new ways of thinking of things, because if you do find yourself stuck, angry, um, resentful, depressed.

Michael Pereira:

there is always a way out.

Michael Pereira:

There's always a way out.

Catherine:

high integrity pays off

Michael Pereira:

Doing what is right.

Michael Pereira:

Not, what's always easy, but what's right.

Michael Pereira:

And I, I saw that from afar and I saw that high integrity always paid off and working hard, always paid off and supporting others, especially your loved ones and your family always paid off.

Michael Pereira:

Even if it wasn't.

Michael Pereira:

But it, it did pay off.

Michael Pereira:

It is my deep, deep belief that the universe wants you to live your very best life.

Michael Pereira:

It wants you to be the, the biggest grandest fullest version of yourself.

Michael Pereira:

I never got panicky before, but I do feel a little panicky at times,

Michael Pereira:

Because of this pandemic and because of the, the forced kind of, insulation that we all had to go through I took it as a moment to deep dive more into myself and into, , what is going on with me and with the world.

Michael Pereira:

And I believe that this was, , necessary to go inward and see what really matters and what we really want in our life, in our lifetime here.

Michael Pereira:

I do think of our time here on this planet as a school.

Michael Pereira:

If we choose to learn these lessons, then that is how we uplift and shift our lives and the lives of people around us.

Michael Pereira:

past is done.

Michael Pereira:

It only exists in our mind.

Michael Pereira:

It's completely done with.

Catherine:

The past does move us forward

Catherine:

These life experiences that are bringing us to a different level in life.

Michael Pereira:

The day that our lockdown became official in France, I was supposed to teach, uh, uh, 5:30 that afternoon.

Michael Pereira:

I thought to myself, well, I'm just going to go teach anyway.

Michael Pereira:

And I, you know, went on to Facebook live

Michael Pereira:

. And to my great surprise, some odd 70 people showed up and I was like, Oh, that's cool.

Michael Pereira:

And then I just kept doing it, uh, again and again, the next day and the next day and the next day.

Michael Pereira:

And at the end of it all, I gave 80 free classes and between 800 and a thousand people would come and go during the, those 50 minutes.

Michael Pereira:

But I'm here to tell you that it gave me hope to do this, and it gave me a purpose.

Michael Pereira:

And I'm incredibly grateful for it.

Michael Pereira:

This is one of the great gifts of this pandemic.

Michael Pereira:

I, I always tried to look at what the gifts are from, from situations that aren't particularly pleasant.

Michael Pereira:

And I believe that this pandemic has shown us that we are all the same, whether you are rich or poor black or white gay or straight,

Michael Pereira:

we all have the same feelings.

Michael Pereira:

We all have the same emotions.

Michael Pereira:

And.

Michael Pereira:

And this, this situation has hopefully taught us that and has helped us grow in our empathy and compassion for others because it has been a global, situation.

Michael Pereira:

I wanted to create a a sub platform where we could keep each other inspired and motivated because when people are isolated, when we have been alone or

Michael Pereira:

kind of

Michael Pereira:

wane And I thought it was so important to be able to keep people

Michael Pereira:

connected and inspired.

Michael Pereira:

Principles.

Michael Pereira:

You can either choose to play them,

Michael Pereira:

Shallow, or you can play them deep.

Michael Pereira:

And I believe the deeper that you take them the more power they, they have in your life.

Michael Pereira:

It's not my quote, I don't know whose it is, but you know what you focus on expands and as you focus on the good in your life,

Michael Pereira:

well,

Michael Pereira:

then more good will

Michael Pereira:

come.

Michael Pereira:

I'm not a guy that normally says, I don't know,

Michael Pereira:

And I use the word transformation because it needs, it's a bigger word.

Michael Pereira:

It's a more powerful word than change because when you change, you can change back.

Michael Pereira:

But when you transform, it's done,

Michael Pereira:

you're,

Michael Pereira:

you're different.

Michael Pereira:

When a Caterpillar becomes a butterfly fly, it can't go back.

Michael Pereira:

So I do believe that there is some transformation happening.

Catherine:

You Rose to this challenge and it's much appreciated.

Michael Pereira:

My hope is that we really come together more so than ever in this time and that we don't forget our neighbors.

Michael Pereira:

Every single listener out there has the power to make a change, to choose something better, to help a friend, to not judge; to accept the differences.

Michael Pereira:

Listen, I, I'm not perfect.

Michael Pereira:

I am no enlightened being I'm far from it, but I, I did my very best and worked really hard to always see the positive side of it.

Michael Pereira:

Well again, Michael, welcome to your positive imprint.

Michael Pereira:

Well, remember the next three weeks are well more surprises here on your positive imprint.
